My name is Steve Hogarth. I started off my working life as a plumbing and heating apprentice; I quickly progressed onto managing teams of engineers, then onto running my own company. As a county squash player, in the recession of the late 80’s, I decided to go backpacking around Australia and New Zealand, where I spent two years travelling from town to town earning my keep playing squash tournaments. With great annoyance to my knees, I still play today.
On returning home to the UK, I went on to work for a large air handling/ventilation manufacturer as area manager, where I ran a team of technical sales engineers turning over in excess of £12,000,000 pa. I then went back to Australia, but as an emigrate this time, where I ran a team of plumbers and electricians installing anything from small works to industrial scale photo voltaic and solar thermal arrays for large sports stadiums. I returned to the UK in 2008 and went into the education sector where I ended up as Curriculum Manager for Harrow College, managing a team of lecturers, technicians and support staff for a very successful engineering division.
I have now started what I trust will be a new exciting chapter in my career as Works Mechanical Manager for GA’s new Plumbing & Heating division.
