The brief
The Beaumont Hotel is a luxury, boutique, five-star hotel in Mayfair, London. Boasting 72 bedrooms and a presidential suite, this grade II, art deco hotel is an exceptionally luxurious setting. Group GA were selected by the construction company, Michael Jay Lonsdale, to be the electrical contractor due to our experience in high-end residential properties.
The brief was to fit-out all 72 of the bedrooms and corridors, installing all power, lighting and LED feature lighting as part of the buildings’ conversion to a hotel, having originally been built in the 1920s as a car park to support nearby Selfridges. Unusually, one of the rooms was created as a public sculpture ‘The Crouching Man’ by renowned artist Antony Gormley.
The project
The greatest challenge with this exciting project was the incredibly tight timeline we had to complete all of the works. To achieve this level of demand, Group GA provided 22 electricians on site, demonstrating our ability to take on large contracts and yet still deliver the level of service and finish expected on such a significant property.
The team also had to coordinate closely with other electrical and mechanical contractors who were fitting out the rest of the hotel.
It was one of the first 3D design jobs we had been involved in, with accuracy down to the nearest millimetre. Our onsite team were working from 3D renders and had laptops on site, which helped to deliver on the time restraints and pathed the way for future projects.
The result
The Beaumont is now multi-award winning and one of the most exclusive and successful hotels in the heart of London. We are very proud to have been a part of its original build and to have delivered our brief to the highest standard within the time provided.
